POSITION SUMMARY
If you' re considering a career in the retail industry or inventory management, then our Inventory Analyst Internship Program may be the smartest choice you can make! Within this program, you' ll get hands-on experience right where the action is --- learning the management, placement and planning of merchandise as well as gaining insight into an entire supply chain model. This 12-week assignment is designed to give you an immersive experience of the retail industry and the culture of Sears Holdings. This position serves as a good foundation for many future positions within our businesses. Associates learn how inventory flows from production to our stores, with gaining a wealth of knowledge across a number of different positions within the inventory function.

QUALIFICATIONS >>
- Junior status (in final summer before graduation)
- Business related major: supply chain, finance, accounting, statistics, economics, retail management, mathematics or engineering
- Strong academic performance
- Demonstrated leadership abilities
- Involvement in extracurricular activities
- Dedication to customer service
- Strong analytical skills
- Proficient in MS Excel
- Goal/results orientation

RESPONSIBILITIES >>
Our interns spend their time working in our corporate office, seeing first-hand what goes into a successful retail business. You will be assigned specific projects throughout the 12-week internship. You will learn how to plan, manage and maintain the replenishment of a specific merchandise line for the stores. As a member of the Inventory Management team, your goal will be to maintain an in-store standard while achieving planned turnover & revenue growth. Your internship will include formal and informal evaluations, which will allow you to apply what you've learned in the classroom in a business setting. Upon successful completion of your internship, you may receive an offer to permanently join our Inventory Management organization!
PAST PROJECT WORK COMPLETED >>
- Developing a new receipt forecasting/tracking template in order to better anticipate the arrival date of product in the stores
- Build an Excel based tool that will identify Store/Item combinations that missed sales potential due to selling out prior to season end
