POSITION SUMMARY
This position supports our Legal Department. There are three main areas where you may be assigned: Global Compliance, Corporate Responsibility, or Environmental Compliance. The goal of the Global Compliance Program is to help ensure merchandise vendors and factories adhere to ou code of vendor conduct requirements on such issues as child labor, wages, benefits, health, and safety. The projects in Corporate Responsibility will relate to corporate social responsibility, including environmental sustainability. Interns in the Environmental Compliance area will be responsible for providing technical project support for environmental cleanup and compliance projects. Projects may stem from a variety of sources, including regulatory compliance, real estate transactions, equipment leaks and asbestos abatement.

RESPONSIBILITIES >>
Global Compliance
- Work with vendors to ensure Compliance with the Global Compliance Program
- Work with merchants on procedures and policies related to Global Compliance Program
- Work with international Global Compliance team on procedures and policies related to Global Compliance Program
Corporate Responsibility
- Develop proposals related to our Environ mental Sustainability Program and other CSR Programs. Review existing Programs, obtain managerial and associate input, collect and analyze market data, calculate costs and savings, prepare written recommendations, and determine appropriate implementation strategies
- Prepare communication pieces and conducts presentations for all levels of associates
- Act as a strategic liaison for special project implementations within various departments
- Provide "ad hoc" reporting as needed to support strategic project implementation and measurement metrics
- Spearhead the development and implementation of processes
Environmental Compliance
- Participates in remediation projects by using qualified environmental consultants and contractors for cleanup work
- Assists in the preparation of technical report/document drafts for accuracy and completeness prior to agency submittal
- Coordinates asbestos surveying and abatement for facility remodeling roll-outs
- Assist in maintaining asbestos database information for facility review
- Answer questions from facilities and other corporate departments regarding asbestos, indoor air quality, mold and lead-based paint
