POSITION SUMMARY
Depending on your interest and skill set, you'll participate in either the Design or Construction side of this fast paced business. On the Design side you'll have the opportunity to participate in Architectural, Mechanical, and/or Electrical Design related to our new store/remodel projects with individual architects and engineers in a mentor relationship. For candidates interested in the construction side, you'll gain valuable experience with construction management as part of our ADA/Lucas project. This assignment will expose you to the inner workings of bringing Kmart Units into compliance with ADA regulations working as part of an interdisciplinary team.

QUALIFICATIONS >>
- Junior status (in final summer before graduation)
- Bachelor's degree in construction management or real estate related major
- Strong academic performance
- Demonstrated leadership abilities

RESPONSIBILITIES >>
- Work with mentor to develop basic designs, details and drawings, ensuring the quality and accuracy of drawings
- Check and research file drawings and drawing information to ensure drawing accuracy
- Perform the least complex design analyzes and performs localized, basic or single component designs used to develop working drawings
- Create working construction drawings by use of AutoCAD
- Assists in developing design standards and prepares standard prototype drawings
- Review and analyze process/procedures on large scale ADA construction project
- Recommend and implement process improvement
- Assist in design of compliance tracking tools
