Kmart to Launch New Champion Breed Pet Food Brand
Retailer also to offer pet adoption and care programs for May's National Pet Month
Kmart has launched a new line of private label pet products for dogs and cats called Champion Breed™. The line of food, treats, toys and litter is intended to provide great customer value; the formulations compare to leading national brands, but the products are sold at competitive prices.
The new line includes:
-- Nine varieties of dry cat food including Senior, Kitten and Indoor, and
eight types of wet cat food
-- Fourteen varieties and sizes of dry dog food including Puppy, Adult,
Senior, Large and Small Breed, and six types of wet dog food
-- Thirteen varieties of dog treats and biscuits, including jerky strips,
peanut butter biscuits and bacon & cheese treats
The products will be introduced now through May at Kmart stores all over the country, with the exception of the wet pet food, which is not yet available.
In addition, to celebrate National Pet Month participating Kmart stores nationwide will partner with local shelters to host pet adoption drives on Saturday, May 19. The following week, on Saturday, May 26, local veterinarians will be available at participating stores to offer free checks and advice on the care and health of pets.
