Kmart Holding Corporation Announces an Update to December Inventory Position

Kmart Holding Corporation (NASDAQ: KMRT) announced today an update to November and December results previously announced on January 3, 2005. At the end of December, Kmart's inventory levels were approximately $3.1 billion as opposed to the $3.4 billion previously announced.

This correction has no impact on Kmart's previously announced cash balance of approximately $3.9 billion at the end of December and the approximate $3.2 billion anticipated at the end of Kmart's 2004 fiscal year on January 26, 2005.
