Kmart Announces Advertising Executive Moves
Kmart Corporation (NYSE: KM) today announced the promotion of Barbara J. Firment, 50, to the position of Senior Vice President Advertising, Sales and In-Store Presentation, effective immediately.
Firment will continue to report directly to James Adamson, Kmart Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. Her responsibilities will include overseeing the weekly circular, newspaper advertising, direct mail production and in-store events and signage.
Firment joined Kmart as merchandise associate in 1970 and has held positions of increasing responsibility throughout her career, most recently as Vice President, Advertising and In-Store Event Marketing.
"Barbara has continued to demonstrate her extensive knowledge over the years to benefit the company's advertising and marketing efforts," said Adamson. "We are confident she will continue to build upon her expertise to guide the company's advertising and marketing efforts during this critical time in our history."
In other executive moves, Chad Harrison, 41, has been promoted to Vice President, Sales and In-Store Presentation reporting to Firment. He will oversee sales promotions, store signage and product presentation, as well as store communication related to special events. Harrison has been with Kmart since 1983, serving most recently as Divisional Vice President, Store Communication and Presentation.
Shawn Hearn, 37, has been promoted to Vice President, Advertising, reporting directly to Firment. He will oversee the planning and production of the weekly circular, newspaper advertising and direct mail. Hearn has been with Kmart since 1981, serving most recently as Vice President, Field Human Resources. His experience with Kmart includes a background in advertising, merchandising and human resources.
