Sears to Webcast Its Annual Meeting

Sears, Roebuck and Co. (NYSE: S) will webcast its 2001 Annual Meeting of Shareholders live over the Internet at sears.com on Thursday, May 10, beginning at 10 a.m. CDT.

The webcast will be accessible on Sears Web site, sears.com, under "About Sears," on the lower left-hand column of the sears.com home page. The replay will be archived for about one week on the "About Sears" section of sears.com site.

Shareholders may submit questions prior to the annual meeting via e-mail by addressing their questions to shareholders@sears.com. During the annual meeting, the company will answer questions from shareholders, as time permits. This is the third consecutive year that Sears has webcast its shareholders' meeting.

Software necessary to access the webcast, Media Player or Real Player, can be downloaded from the Sears Web site, sears.com. Downloading the software may take up to 22 minutes with a 56K speed modem.
