Sears Holdings Names President of Food and Consumables
Robin Michel to Lead Food & Consumables, Health & Beauty and Pharmacy Business Units
HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill., Jan. 18, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Sears Holdings (Nasdaq: SHLD) announced today that Robin Michel joined the company as SVP and President - Food and Consumables & Health and Wellness. She will be responsible for the oversight, leadership and growth both in-store and online for the company's Food & Consumables, Health & Beauty and Pharmacy Business.

Michel most recently served as President, Giant Foods in Landover, Md., where she was responsible for merchandising, store operations, finance, supply chain, real estate and human resources. Giant Foods is part of the holding company Ahold, an international group of leading supermarket companies based in the United States and Europe. During her extensive career in the grocery and pharmacy business, Robin has held senior leadership roles at companies such as: Roundy's Supermarkets, Inc., 7-Eleven, Inc., and H.E. Butt (H-E-B) Grocery Company. She started her career with The Kroger Co., and progressed from Store Director to Vice President during her time there.
Michel earned a master's degree in management from the University of Texas and holds a bachelor's degree in commerce from the University of Louisville. She also is a graduate of Harvard Business School's Advanced Management Program.
Michel started with the company December 13, 2010 and is based in the company's corporate headquarters in Hoffman Estates, IL.
