Sears Continues to Help Make Military Families' Holiday Wishes Come True This Season With Second Disbursement of $100 Gift Cards Through Sears Heroes at Home Wish Registry

The holidays are all about giving and few people give more, without asking for anything in return, than the men and women of our nation's military. Throughout the holiday season, Sears continues to ask Americans to help fulfill Christmas wishes for thousands of deserving military families and personnel by contributing to the Sears Heroes at Home Wish Registry™. As a result, Sears is proud to be able to provide a second $100 e-Gift Card, just in time for the holidays, to the more than 20,000 U.S. military families registered in the Heroes at Home Wish Registry so they can have an even brighter Christmas.

Among the touching stories received from soldiers who have benefited from the Sears Heroes at Home Wish Registry include a family from Fort Stewart, Ga. who will spend yet another Christmas without their husband and father at home to celebrate with them on what is supposed to be a magical day for most kids. This is the fourth deployment for this soldier, and the second consecutive Christmas he will miss spending the holidays with his wife and their three little girls.

"We've received thousands of calls and emails from military families around the country and simply put, they are what make the Heroes at Home Wish Registry so touching during the holidays," said Don Hamblen, Sears' chief marketing officer. "We believe everyone deserves to have a wonderful holiday season, especially our military families and veterans who have already given so much. We couldn't be more excited to provide the second disbursement to the Heroes at Home Wish Registry so families everywhere can purchase items for their kids and family members that will make this Christmas special."

Beyond the families directly impacted by the Wish Registry, Sears' Heroes at Home program continues to have an enormous impact on our military families as well as others across America. This has led many to share their stories and gratitude on www.Sears.com/heroesathome. Among these heartfelt stories include:

"I just wanted to say a huge thank you to all who have donated to this program. Christmas this year would not have been the same! I have been out of work for a year and my husband has been in the military for 8 years and money is very tight this Christmas. This program allowed us to buy our two little girls (14 months and 6 years) some much needed pajamas and a few toys. I can't thank you enough. I can't wait to see their smiles on Christmas Day."

"For someone who grew up in the military I have had the opportunity to see first hand behind the scenes of what our military does for us. There just aren't enough words to say how thankful I am for what you do and for this wonderful country we live in. I hope my small contribution can help someone in need this year. Thank you to our military and to Sears for making this possible."

"As a three-time Army veteran with a scheduled fourth combat tour around the corner, I would just like to say thank you to the Sears group and to the families that donate their time or money to the soldiers during their times of hardship. Once again, Thank You Sears for showing you care. It really means a lot to us and our families."

Now through Dec. 31, contributions can be made to the Wish Registry at Sears stores nationwide or by visiting www.sears.com/heroesathome. Contributions made to the Wish Registry are not tax deductible and will be used to purchase Sears e-Gift Cards that will be distributed equally to all registered families. Upon making a contribution, consumers can include a personal note to the families and wish them happy holidays.

"There is still time to give and we hope everyone will find it in their heart to make a donation to the Heroes at Home Wish Registry," said Hamblen. "Every donation counts and goes to helping others have a happier holiday."
