Research shows more consumers are adding gift cards to their shopping lists than in previous years

In fact, a recent survey conducted by the National Retail Federation (NRF) shows that nearly 58 percent of respondents plan to buy at least one gift card this holiday season, while 19 percent of those plan to buy as many as six. The NRF estimates consumers will spend $26.3 billion on gift cards this year, up from $24.8 billion last year.
