Sears' Kenmore refrigerators are not only Energy Star-qualified, but are also very affordable, starting at $499.

The following refrigeration facts and tips are as helpful as they are surprising:

-- If just 20 percent of all refrigerators met the Kenmore Elite
standard, at least 38.6 million kWh would be saved annually. That
additional electricity would be enough to light Dallas for a month!
-- If cars had increased their fuel efficiency as quickly as
refrigerators have over the last 25 years, we'd all get 80 miles to
        the gallon.
-- If every U.S. household replaced its 10-year-old refrigerator with a
new Kenmore Elite Energy Star qualified model, the nation could save
enough energy to light every household in Dallas for 75 years!
-- The Kenmore Elite UltraFresh 26-cubic feet side-by-side refrigerator
uses the same amount of energy required as a 75 watt light bulb.*
-- A full refrigerator uses less energy to operate than an empty
        one...Stock up!
-- Don't keep your refrigerator too cold. Recommended temperatures are
        37o to 40o F.
-- Cover liquids and wrap foods stored in the refrigerator. Uncovered
foods release moisture and make the compressor work harder.
