Sears Employees to Set Up Blood Drives in Stores; Call On Neighbors to Make Donations For Relief Efforts In Response to National Tragedy
To help with emergency relief efforts on the East Coast, Sears, Roebuck and Co. is mobilizing its customers, employees and resources. Tomorrow, September 12, Sears will begin coordinating blood drives at many Sears stores and other Sears business units throughout the country, beginning with its corporate headquarters in Hoffman Estates where the public can join Sears employees in donating blood from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Sears also will begin accepting customer and employee donations at all Sears full-line stores, Sears Hardware stores, Orchard Supply Hardware stores, Sears Dealer stores, Sears Outlet stores, The Great Indoors, and other Sears facilities nationwide. Customers can make contributions at Sears cash registers with cash, Sears Gift Cards, checks or their Sears Card, or through http://www.sears.com/donate.
In addition to giving a minimum of $1 million in immediate aid, Sears is donating generators and other merchandise to the National Guard and relief workers. The company and its employees will work closely with local agencies to determine other ways to help with relief efforts where needed.
