With over 8,600 service technicians making more than 11 million service calls annually, this business delivers a broad range of retail-related residential and commercial services in all 50 states and Puerto Rico under the Sears Parts & Repair Services and A&E Factory Service brand names. Commercial and residential customers can obtain parts and repair services for all major brands of products such as home appliances, lawn and garden equipment, home electronics, floor-care products, and heating and cooling systems. Smaller items for repair can be brought into Sears Parts & Repair Centers located throughout the United States or to any Sears Full-line Store. Sears operates over 830 Auto Centers which are located in the most highly trafficked malls in the nation. Our Auto Centers offer a variety of professional automotive repair and maintenance services as well as a full assortment of automotive accessories. We operate a total of 1,285 Kmart stores across 49 states, Guam, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. This store count includes 1260 discount stores, averaging 92,000 square feet, 25 Super Centers, averaging 165,000 square feet, and 900 RX departments. Most Kmart stores are one-floor, free-standing units that carry a wide assortment of general merchandise, including products sold under such well-known labels as Jaclyn Smith and Joe Boxer.
There are 1,260 Kmart stores which also operate in-store pharmacies. The Super Centers operate from 6 AM to midnight and combine a full-service grocery along with the general merchandise selection of a discount store. Kmart also sells its products through its kmart.com website.
In 1968, our first licensed pharmacy department opened in Birmingham, Alabama. Following the success of this department, other pharmacy departments were opened. The licensee was soon bought out and the pharmacy became an integral part of the Kmart operation. Today we operate over 900 pharmacies throughout the U.S., including Hawaii, the Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico and Guam and employ nearly 2,500 Pharmacists.
