You'll start in the Loss Prevention Manager Training Program, which consists of a 12-week training program in a Sears store. You'll see first-hand what goes into a successful retail business. You'll work directly with the Loss Prevention Manager in your assigned store. The LPM will guide you through the Onboarding program where you'll learn about technical Loss Prevention competencies. You will also partner with the management team, where you'll learn about general management skills. The Loss Prevention Manager Training Program is made up of the following building blocks that are critical to leadership development:
In-Store Rotations - During the program, you'll rotate through various store functions, including receiving, automotive and various sales areas to gain a broad view of the retail industry and a more focused view on how Loss Prevention interacts with these businesses in the store. As with all of our store management positions, you'll have to be prepared to work nights, weekends and holidays as needed.
Mentor Relationship - Critical to your development will be relationships with high-performing managers and leaders at Sears who have proven themselves as drivers of business performance and developers of people.
Structured Development - You will receive structured training and development through multiple media. Technical and leadership skills will be delivered through online, self-study, buddy (LPC) and classroom-based experiences.
Networking Opportunities - We've learned from our former trainees that the ability to interact with peers and proven leaders within the company is an important building block of ongoing development; therefore, we ensure you have these opportunities. These interactions allow you to share common struggles and grow through shared experiences.
Throughout the program, you'll receive periodic feedback from coaches with whom you've worked.
Once you successfully complete your training, you'll be ready for your first Loss Prevention Coach assignment. After that, many management opportunities will be available to you with the ultimate goal of placing you as a District Loss Prevention Coach within 3-4 years. Of course, your future will depend on your career ambitions, your performance, and the business results you achieve.
